Each social media platform has different character limits for posts, bios, and other text elements. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you optimize your content for each platform:

Twitter Character Limits

  • Tweets: 280 characters (including spaces and most punctuation)
  • Threads: Each tweet in a thread has the same 280-character limit
  • Bio: 160 characters
  • Direct Messages: 10,000 characters

Instagram Character Limits

  • Caption: 2,200 characters (truncated in feed after ~125 characters)
  • Bio: 150 characters
  • Comments: 2,200 characters
  • Hashtags: 30 per post

Facebook Character Limits

  • Regular Posts: 63,206 characters (but engagement drops significantly after ~250 characters)
